Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings

  • 1 pound ground turkey

  • ½ cup crushed cheese-flavored crackers

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes

  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon dried minced onion (Optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill for high heat and lightly oil the grate.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground turkey, crushed crackers, egg, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and onion until well combined. Form into four fat patties.

  3. Cook patties on the preheated grill until no longer pink in the center, about 5 minutes per side. An instant-read thermometer inserted into the center should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C).

Tips

Use any type of cracker that you like. Cheese crackers are my favorite.

Pear Galette with Ginger

Pear Galette with Ginger

This pear galette is an informal, rustic pie, made free-form, without a pie pan. This recipe is made even easier, with a purchased, refrigerated pie crust. Prepare the ingredients as the pie crust comes to room temperature. You can make a pear galette with Bosc or Anjou pears, but using red pears provides a beautiful color. Candied ginger adds a special touch, along with a tiny amount of bourbon.

Spicy Lamb Patties

Spicy Lamb Patties

I was forced to create these when my favorite brand stopped making their lamb meatballs, which were a staple in my little food-obsessed world. They're even more scrumptious with a small side of plain yogurt with some mint and cumin stirred into it. Add rice or couscous and a green salad and you have a tasty, easy, somewhat elegant dinner! This recipe can also be used to make meatballs for frying, if you prefer.
