Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings

  • 5 apples - peeled, cored, and diced

  • 2 pears - peeled, cored, and diced

  • ½ cup fresh blueberries

  • ½ cup fresh blackberries

  • ½ cup agave nectar

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

  • 1 tablespoon brandy-based orange liqueur (such as Grand Marnier®)

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup pecan pieces

  • ½ cup turbinado sugar

  • ½ cup rolled oats

  • ½ cup butter, cut into small pieces

  • ¼ cup ground flax seeds

  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt

Directions

  1. Combine apples, pears, blueberries, blackberries, agave, cornstarch, lime juice, orange liqueur, vanilla extract, ginger, and cinnamon in a slow cooker. Stir to combine.

  2. Place flour, pecans, sugar, oats, butter, ground flax seeds, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl or resealable plastic bag. Crumble mixture with a fork, your fingers, or a pastry blender. Pour over fruit mixture in the slow cooker.

  3. Cover and cook on Low until cooked through and top is golden, 8 hours to overnight.

Cook's Notes:

You can use frozen blueberries and blackberries instead of fresh, lemon juice instead of lime, and any other flavored cognac, if desired.

Place the lid on the slow cooker and leave it on until cooking time is up. Don't take the lid off early.
