Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 12 servings

  • 4 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal, plus extra for topping

  • 2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling

  • 1 (14 1/4 ounce) box white cake mix

  • 1 1/2 sticks butter, cut into 20 pieces

  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).  Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Spread cereal on the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Add pie filling; spread evenly over the cereal, taking care not to mix together. Sprinkle cake mix evenly over apples. Top with butter slices. Sprinkle with additional cereal and chopped pecans, if using

  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden and bubbly, 50 to 60 minutes.  Let stand 5 to 10 minutes before serving.
