Easy German Apple Streusel Pie

Easy German Apple Streusel Pie

This apple streusel pie has a sweet bottom crust and a crisp topping that's easy to make with one dough. The apples are cooked with cinnamon until tender for an amazing fall dessert.

Beef Birria Queso Tacos with Consommé

Beef Birria Queso Tacos with Consommé

Birria tacos are so delicious and this recipe is my take on the world's most trendy taco. Seriously, when you make these, you'll understand what all the fuss is about. Start with a batch of my beef birria and use some of the sauce in these shredded beef tacos with cheese. A super savory, aromatic consommé is served on the side for dipping.

Cream Puff "Crack Buns" (Choux au Craquelin)

Cream Puff "Crack Buns" (Choux au Craquelin)

These gorgeous cream puff "crack buns" were inspired by the Great British Baking Show, which is currently my favorite thing on television. Speaking of favorite things, Boston cream pie is one of my all-time favorite desserts, and this was basically an individually portioned, probably superior version of that. These would be great filled with all kinds of things, but it's hard to beat vanilla bean pastry cream (see footnote).

Classic Cuban Midnight (Medianoche) Sandwich

Classic Cuban Midnight (Medianoche) Sandwich

This is one of the more famous sandwiches straight out of the island of Cuba. This recipe came from my uncle who used to work at a restaurant in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and now works at a Cuban cafeteria here in Miami. This sandwich is best served with fried plantain chips and a cold mamey milkshake!

Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) with Honey Mayoster Sauce

Karaage (Japanese Fried Chicken) with Honey Mayoster Sauce

Karaage (Japanese fried chicken) with honey mayoster sauce is very easy to make, and my guests always enjoy it a lot! It can be served as an appetizer or over a bed of rice as a quick weekday dinner! I usually marinate it the night before to give it more flavor, but if it's a last-minute meal you are preparing, no worries because there's still dipping sauce! Serve hot with shredded lettuce and a lemon wedge.
