Quantum computers have the potential to break widely used cryptographic algorithms such as RSA and ECC, which rely on the difficulty of factoring large numbers or solving discrete logarithms. In a blockchain, data is stored in a decentralized manner across multiple nodes, making it extremely difficult for attackers to alter the information without being detected.
