Sharjah tenants will soon benefit from a special relief scheme as the emirate moves to regularise previously unauthorised lease contracts. The Sharjah Executive Council has approved a settlement for lease agreements signed before the introduction of Law No. (5) of 2024 on real estate leasing and its executive regulations.
Under the new decision, tenants who update their expired or uncertified leases that ended before September 19, 2024, will receive a 50% discount on authentication fees. In addition, administrative fines for failing to register or authenticate leases will be fully waived. These exemptions cover all lease types, including residential, commercial, industrial, and investment agreements, and will be in effect from November 1 to December 31, 2025.
The Council’s initiative aims to simplify compliance for residents while ensuring that lease documentation is in line with legal requirements. Tenants across Sharjah now have a limited window to take advantage of these financial benefits and avoid penalties for past lapses.
In parallel, the Sharjah Executive Council also approved the Hasad Center project, a key initiative supporting food security and agricultural development in the emirate. The center will serve as a collection hub for fruits and vegetables, helping streamline distribution and providing practical support to local farmers.
The Council further reviewed plans for the 54th UAE National Day celebrations in Sharjah, designed to foster national unity, strengthen residents’ sense of belonging, and highlight the country’s achievements and cultural heritage.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired the meeting, which was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, both Deputy Rulers and Deputy Chairmen of the Council.
These measures reflect Sharjah’s ongoing commitment to supporting residents, encouraging economic and agricultural growth, and celebrating national milestones, in alignment with the vision of Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
